Code Editor is a text editor with syntax highlighting, clips, find replace, the works. But it also has a full file manager, allowing you to work with files locally or remotely. It has a cool keyboard with context keys and an amazing super loupe to set your cursor. It manages sites so you can quickly get to work, and itll even sync those sites. Coda has been the best $10 investment Ive ever made for work. Being able to debug server issues, check error logs, patch code -- anything -- all on my phone or iPad has made my job so much easier. No more breaking out my laptop. Any time something needs to be done, I can do it instantly from the app. My only complaint is that occasionally, the terminal text doesnt line up with either the keyboard (the cursor gets hidden), or the text seems pushed to the left, cutting off a portion of the text. I would also *love* to see more Playgrounds introduced (specifically for Python and SQL). All in all, a must have for a busy server admin or web developer!
This tool lets my iPhone and iPad level up and in many cases do what I normally needed my mac to do. Very powerful, very well-designed, professional software tools well worth the price. With update after update, it keeps getting better.
This tool reallly has it all. Code, FTP and SSH terminal all in one. FTP and SSH exist as seperate products as well. Little too much finger clicking to get around, but I still am impressed with the power of this tool. I do php development and this tool has all the features Im looking for to go.
App itself is amazing, but totally unusable in the current version! Repeated crashing on iPad Pro when adding more than one CSS attribute to a class.
Amazing app. With its built in terminal and FTP client this app has helped me to replace my laptop for most of most of my programming. I use the terminal to connect to my Linux server where I am able to edit all my docs through Coda and run my compile server side. Really impressed by my productivity on Coda
While I love the ssh portion of this app, and the preview window. The Built in editor is useless to me, as I come from a long vim background. This means the most attractive feature (offline editing) is not available to me.

Some bad moments

Really, I dunno. Coda might be good. It might do everything their website and reviewers say it does. It might. I dont know. My experience using an iPad 2, iOS 9.3.5, was lousy. I had a hard time getting individual files into a common folder. I was unable to decompress (unzip) files. I was unable to preview files. An email was sent to Coda asking what I might be doing wrong. After a week, I simply deleted the app as a lost cause & informed Coda to cancel my query. Good gosh, but I got a reply the very next day! The CSR listed several steps to rectify my issue, all using my Mac. My Mac. I have an iPad, an older iPad. I do not even have a Mac. I re-installed the app & tried to do what I had been for the last 10 months. Nada. The app has once more been deleted. So. $13.55 and almost a year later... well..... Is Coda good? Personally, it and the entire operation is garbage. But, dont take *my* word for it. Spend your $$$ and *you* be the judge.
I love Coda, I really do. I even bought an iPad to suplement my development environment with Coda. I was really looking forward to being able to live preview my website on the mobile app (just like it is supposed to do). However, it does not load any CSS files. This becomes a problem because Im a web designer who REALLY needs CSS to see my website. To all the Coda devs: I really love your apps, and Ive utilised the Panic apps for years. However, with each new update, things just keep getting more buggy. If this changes in the future, I will be more than happy to change my review. As it stands, Im not too happy. To provide a little context: Im using a 12.9" iPad Air, and a Macbook Air running the latest OS (Ive had to switch to an older version because the scrolling stopped working when I switched to the code editor). Again, I really love Coda, but as of lately, my experiences have not been the best.
App looks great. Works great. Totally unusable if you have a lot of sites. I have about 500! THERE IS NO WAY TO SORT SITES OR SEARCH YOUR LIST. EVERYTHING IS IN RANDOM ORDER. Imagine having to slowly scroll just to find a clients site. Embarrassing... I asked them if they were going to add it and I was told not any time soon. FAIL.
Code completion is partial at best, does poor indentation of code, even HTML. Proprietary environment makes moving your work to other locations needlessly difficult, and placed behind another paywall. Look elsewhere!
Overall this is a pretty good on the go editor to stay productive on your project or your customers project. Bugs: Some of the crashing has been fixed which was the biggest pain. Syntax highlighting will break periodically requiring you to close the page and re open it to fix the highlighting. This happens when editing any language in the program that Ive seen. I would still recommend this, as I use this on my laptop as well and its well worth it buying every time. Bugs are going to happen. **** UPDATE****** This app crashes too much to be productive. Not a good companion.
Im a big fan of desktop Coda, but this iOS version has crashed every time I enter more than one line of code. For the price that Panic is charging for this piece of software, it should be far more reliable than it actually is. Im disappointed, because the desktop version Ive been using for the past four years has been rock solid.
